KegCalc is provided by John Van Huffel. These terms describe the app and website, their limitations, and your responsibilities when using the calculator. Please read them before choosing “I agree & continue.”
What KegCalc does
KegCalc estimates equilibrium carbonation pressure and approximate beer-line length from your inputs and simplified assumptions. Beer-style targets and equipment examples are starting points, not specifications for your particular beer or installation. The app is intended for ordinary home CO₂ draft setups. It does not model every pressure loss, predict actual flow rate, certify equipment, or replace a qualified technician’s assessment.
Your equipment and responsibilities
Before applying pressure, verify the exact manufacturer’s working-pressure limits, operating temperatures, intended gas or liquid use, connections, condition and maintenance requirements for every component. Follow the lowest applicable limit and all manufacturer instructions. Do not pressurize equipment with an unknown rating or uncertain condition. Stop using damaged or degraded parts. Verify your inputs and the brewer’s targets; do not treat a calculated result as permission to exceed an equipment restriction.
Pressure and CO₂ risks
Pressurized equipment can fail and release gas, liquid or flying parts, causing serious injury, death or property damage. Escaping CO₂ can accumulate without a warning smell and cause incapacitation or suffocation. Follow supplier instructions for handling, ventilation, leak checks and pressure release. If you suspect dangerous gas accumulation, leave the area, keep others away and seek emergency help. Do not enter or attempt a rescue. Read the Safety page for practical guidance.
The 30 PSI calculation limit
KegCalc withholds pressure and beer-line recommendations when its calculated pressure exceeds 30 PSI. It does not substitute 30 PSI for a higher answer. This limit is a product design choice, not a universal safe working pressure. Lower pressures can still be unsafe for your equipment. KegCalc cannot detect damage, incorrect assembly, leaks, regulator faults or an unsuitable installation.
Accuracy, availability and warranties
To the extent permitted by applicable law, KegCalc and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without express or implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and noninfringement. We do not promise that calculations or content will be error-free, complete, continuously available, or suitable for a particular setup. These statements do not remove warranties or other rights that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
Limits of this disclaimer
You remain responsible for checking your equipment and deciding whether to act on a result. This notice does not make unsafe equipment safe or replace reasonable product design and warnings. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or any liability or consumer right that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited. These terms do not ask you to waive claims for personal injury or death, require arbitration, or waive a jury trial or participation in a class action.
Other websites and equipment examples
Manufacturer examples apply only to the exact products and stated conditions, and specifications may change. Links to sellers or other websites do not certify their products or make their terms part of these terms. The website includes disclosed affiliate links; qualifying purchases may support KegCalc. Third-party services have their own terms and privacy practices.
Privacy and remembering your choice
The calculator operates locally. Acceptance is remembered on this browser or app installation using the terms version and acceptance date, without a server-side acceptance record. Read the Privacy page for the rest of our data practices. Browser storage restrictions, clearing site or app data, or reinstalling may cause the prompt to appear again. Resetting calculator inputs does not withdraw acceptance.
Changes and choosing not to agree
You may read Terms, Safety and Privacy without agreeing. Calculator results remain unavailable until you affirmatively agree. A changed terms version requires a new agreement before further calculator use; changes do not retrospectively replace terms for earlier use. You can stop using the calculator at any time. Applicable app-store terms and nonwaivable legal rights continue to apply.
