KEGCALCKEG CONNECTIONS
Start with the beer you want to bring home. This guide covers domestic beers and imports you may encounter at U.S. keg retailers; local availability varies.
Shop keg couplers →“What coupler system is on this exact keg?” Give the retailer the beer name and keg size. Brewery, export market and packaging can change the connection. Brand examples below are a starting point, not a guarantee for every keg carrying that name.
A sixth barrel and a half barrel can use the same valve. Keg volume, beer style and country alone do not identify the coupler. Never force a coupler that does not engage correctly.

Boddington’s is a useful example: Micro Matic’s guide lists G, while MoreBeer’s U-coupler listing includes Boddingtons Pub Ale. Ask the retailer or distributor to confirm the valve on the keg they are supplying before buying either coupler.
For Guinness Draught, confirm the specified mixed gas, compatible regulator and stout faucet with your supplier. Selecting U only resolves the keg connection. The calculator’s CO₂ beer-line defaults are not a complete nitro dispensing setup.
Cornelius-style kegs use separate gas and liquid disconnects. Match ball-lock or pin-lock posts; these are not Sankey couplers.
